Augmented Brickwork, 2019 @ GKR, ETH Zurich


This research proposes to use augmented reality technologies to enable skilled brick layers to construct complex brickwork on the construction site. The brick layers are equipped with an object-based visual-inertial tracking system - a handhold camera and a visualization platform. Instead of using strings and physical templates, a custom-made user interface  allows them to follow stepwise instructions to position each brick as defined in the design.
